The Simple Woman’s Daybook 2/1/2010

FOR TODAY Feb. 1, 2010
Outside my window…It’s a beautiful day here. The sun is shinning brightly. It’s cold but will get warmer today. The snow is still here but it’s beginning to melt.

I am thinking… that another month has gone by. I haven’t exercised on my Wii Fit yet. I haven’t stayed on my diet. I’m still eating kettle corn. For some reason I gain weight on it even though I skip a meal to have it.

I am thankful for… for all the many blessing we have from our heavenly Father. He is good to provide us with all our needs. I am thankful that all my children have great jobs. I’m thankful we are a Christian family.

From the learning rooms…Dakota will be watching and learning from her Our Baby Can Read program. She is learning so much. She loves Sesame Street, books of all kinds. She even loves books without pictures.

From the kitchen… Coffee and cereal today. I don’t know what we will have for lunch. I’m making veggie soup with beef for supper.
I am wearing…thick fluffy pair of green panda pjs and footsies.

I am creating…a peaceful home where everyone is welcome and enjoyed.
I am going… to play with Dakota today and enjoy being with her. She doesn’t like for me to be on the computer. She comes and gets me by the hand and pulls me away with her.

I am reading…Finding Purpose Beyond Our Pain by Paul Meier and David Henderson.
I am hoping… that Mama’s surgery on the 3rd. goes well and she heals quickly.
I am hearing… Dakota singing Caillou as she watches it on TV. I record the shows for her. She got tired of Sesame Street. It’s a great program for little ones.

This is Dakota with her Mommy and Daddy in the snow
Around the house… is a mess because we went to Conway yesterday to see our granddaughter Paige. She attends the Art Institute in Chicago and flew home for a three day visit. She’s so beautiful inside and out. She’s one of the sweetest person’s I have ever met. She loves to bake and plans to be a pastry chef.

One of my favorite things… snow and I finally got my wish. We have about five inches. The grands had so much fun.

This is my son JW , Porscha and Adi. They built this great snowman. Jaxson got cold and went inside.
A few plans for the rest of the week…. this is the week I go to Mama’s home. I plan to go tomorrow and stay till the end of the week. I always enjoy myself there. Mama is lot of fun and seems to be my age instead of hers. My sister Carolyn will be there with us. Janice lives close and can visit any time. She is taking Mama for her leg surgery. I haven’t heard from my sister Brenda. She works from her home so Mama didn’t think she could come. I’m sure she will visit soon though.

My sisters and Mama on our Branson trip.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing.. I hope all of you have a great week. I plan to.

FOR TODAY …..Nov 28, 2011  Please Join us

Outside my window… It’s a beautiful cold day. Looks like winter has arrived.

I am thinking… What a wonderful day it is. Dakota is visiting with me today. She is now three. She’s so smart and keeps me laughing all the time.

I am thankful…For the wonderful family gathering we had Thanksgiving Day. It was hosted by my son and his wife. A great time was had by all.

In the kitchen…I can smell the red beans I soaked overnight cooking for lunch. I really don’t care for their smell but my husband loves them.

I am wearing…Silver and black lounging pj’s. I will dress after I exercise.

I am creating…A comfortable home to live in.

I am going…To the health food store today to purchase a few items I’m out of. I ordered some them from Amazon.

I am wondering…Why I seem to always be behind on my daily schedule. I think I need to rethink how much time it takes me to do things around the house.

I am reading…The Help by Kathryn Stockett. It’s a good read but it bothers me that the writer often strays from the character’s dialect.

I am hoping…That I will feel like decorating the Christmas tree soon. Adi and Jaxson has made some decorations for me.

I am looking forward to…Sleeping tonight! I had a restless night with little sleep.

I am hearing…The movie “Cars” and Dakota begging me to play “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”.  I told her I would hurry and get through with this blog so we can watch videos.

Around the house…There are a lot of things to do. My list never gets finished. I plan to fry potatoes to go with the red beans for lunch.

I am pondering…On Gen. 1:3-5   On the first day God commanded light to shine out of darkness and established the Day and Night cycle. This act is not to be confused with the establishment of the sun, moon, and stars on the fourth day. In 2Co_4:6 the Apostle Paul draws a parallel between the original separation of light from darkness and the conversion of a sinner.
One of my favorite things…Christmas.

A few plans for the rest of the week: I plan to start decorating for Christmas. I will start with the mantel.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing…Thanksgiving Day.

The Simple Womans Daybook

FOR TODAY…Tuesday
Outside my window… it’s a cloudy day. I think it will be very hot.

I am thinking… my grandson Mason. Today is his birthday. He is in college. He will be going to ATU here in Russellville, AR this year. He’s a wonderful young man and we all love him dearly. He’s also a very talented drummer.

I am thankful … for a loving and supportive family who can depend on one another for love and support.

I am wearing… blue pjs

I am remembering… last year when Sage was born. I was lucky enough to see her birth. She is a beautiful baby. I want to see her more so she won’t cry when she looks at me.

I am going… to continue my rest at home until I’m over this Lupus and Fibro flair.

I am reading.. No Second Chance by Harlan Coben. Very good.

I am hoping…I will be strong enough to go to Adi and Jaxson’s last ballgame of the year.

On my mind… is losing weight. I have gained ten lbs. I pray it doesn’t take ten years to lose it.

Noticing that… if anything else breaks down in this house I’m going to beg my hubby to sell it. Lightning took out part of the electricity in the house. We have have to clean the garage before we can call an electrician.

Pondering these words… “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. (Ephesians 6:18)”

From the kitchen… I have a lot of dishes to wash. I’m cooking bacon tomato sandwiches for lunch. I won’t be eating one but husband has been begging for them to be made.

Around the house… I have a lot to do. I need to put the house in order.

One of my favorite things~ is Adi spending the night with me. She stayed Friday night and was so good. Jaxson plans to spend this Friday night with me. I love having the grands here. They make me feel better. Jaxson is always praying for me.

From my picture journal… my hubby, Jerry, and some of the grands.

How I look while I’m writing this. My illness has taken it’s toll on my hair. For some reason I lose some hair, the texture changes and it gets curly.

Outside my window… It’s a beautiful sunshiny day even though it’s cold.
I am thinking… of the wonderful day we had yesterday with the family. Two of the babies were here. We think Mattie looks like her grandpa Hoppie.

I am thankful for… for the people who were saved in Haiti and I’m praying for all of the people there.
I am wearing… PJ’s and a large fluffy white bath robe.

I am remembering… What a wonderful year 2009 was. We are starting a new decade this year. What will we do with it?
I am going… to put away the rest of my Christmas decorations. The months pass by so quickly for me I imagine a few will still be out next Christmas.
I am currently reading… Believer’s Bible Commentary
I am hoping… to visit Mama soon. I need a rest from my hubby’s vacation.
On my mind… who are God’s elect and when does a person become one of the elect?

Words to ponder ….”Whoever said you can’t buy happiness forgot about puppies.” — Gene Hill

FOR TODAY… Dec. 14,09

Outside my window… the sun is trying to peek through the clouds on this cold morning.

I am thinking… what a wonderful time we had at my daughter, Gloria’s, home yesterday. We played with baby Sage and visited with the family. We had a great supper.

I am thankful for… my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for all mankind.

I am wearing… huge pink fuzzy pajamas and pink fuzzy socks.

I am remembering… Christmas’s past when my children were little. We always had a wonderful time.

I am going… Mama’s Christmas party Sat. I hope all the family will be there.

I am reading… The Traveler. I don’t remember who wrote it. It’s a wonderful book.

I am hoping… to finish my Christmas shopping soon. I want to buy a fruitcake. I love them.

On my mind… my grands. Adi and Jaxson spent Friday night with me. We had so much fun. We decorated balls to put on the tree. They did a great job.

Noticing that… our house is not all festive at night like our neighbors. Our street is beautifully decorated. Hubby may or may not put our lights up this year.

Pondering these words… Within that awful volume lies The mystery of mysteries! Happiest they of human race, To whom God has granted grace To read, to fear, to hope, to pray, To lift the latch, and force the way: And better had they ne’er been born, Who read to doubt, or read to scorn.
Author: Sir Walter Scott

From the kitchen… I had a fruit smoothie for breakfast. I will cook veg. beef soup for supper.

Around the house… is a mess. I made the bed but still have some cleaning to do in other rooms. I will put on Christmas music and take my time cleaning.

One of my favorite things… snow! I love snow at Christmas.

From my picture journal… Adi and Jaxson at our tea party.
